Jeet Kune Do Concepts

Bruce Lee's Philosophy of the Martial Arts
Jeet Kune Do is the term the legendary Bruce Lee used to describe the his philosophy of the martial arts. As a martial artist, Lee was far in advance of his time in both training methods and his desire to not to be constrained by existing or future patterns and doctrines. He described it as 'having no way as way, no limitation as limitation'. Lee later regretted giving a name to his philosophy of combat, as by naming it he had in fact gone against his own non-conformist principle of martial arts.
In Jeet Kune Do Concepts we honour Lee's extraordinary martial art skill and follow teachings of the man he passed Jeet Kune Do to - his friend and student, Guru Dan Inosanto. Guru Inosanto is a modern legend in his own right and one of the world's premier martial arts instructors, enhancing Lee's Jeet Kune Do with the Filipino art of Kali-Silat and more recently with the disciplines of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Shoot Wrestling and Combat Submission Wrestling.
Jeet Kune Do Concepts is all about working in all ranges of combat and about the principles of martial arts and combat rather than this or that technique. This means that the art can fit the student rather than the student fitting the art. Jeet Kune Do Concepts is an eclectic martial art, we don't just grab a technique from here and there, we use mutual principles to apply to the different arts. These could be economy of motion, directness of action or effectiveness.
What does all this mean? A direct no nonsense way of training and of searching for your own truth in the martial arts.
Martial Art Concepts can help you on that journey in a professional, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere through one of our tailored training programs. That is why we have divided our training schedule into three main areas of martial art: Kickboxing, Kali and Grappling to allow you to gain an understanding of the individual arts and ranges of comabt before venturing forward with your personal journey in the martial arts. Therefore our Jeet Kune Do Concepts Program is strictly by Chief Instructor invite and usually requires a Academy Instructor recommendation before beeing considered.
